Salute, a crime drama, will see Dulquer step into the shoes of a cop, Aravind Karunakaran. A final decision on the same matter will be presented in the general body meeting of FEUOK on March 31. FEUOK has also clarified that they would not cooperate with the release of Dulquer's movies in other languages as well.
It is this agreement that's not being honoured now that Salute is moving to an OTT platform at the last moment, FEUOK had said. On Tuesday, the Film Exhibitor’s United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), the association of theatre owners in the State, has decided to boycott the films of actor Dulquer Salman, as he decided to go for a direct digital release of Salute, despite signing agreements with the film exhibitors.
Later, the team opted for an OTT release, and ‘Salute’ is slated to release on Sony Liv from March 18. #Salute #Salutepostponed #SafetyFirst #OurApologies,” Dulquer Salmaan, who is also the producer of the movie, said, in an earlier statement. We thank each and every one of you for your support. But in times like this we must prioritise health and safety. Owing to recent developments and the spike in Covid-19 and Omicron cases, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the release of “Salute”. “Just like all of you, we were most excited and eagerly awaiting our next release. The movie, which was slated to release on January 14 was postponed in the wake of the spiking COVID and Omicron cases of the pandemic. As we had reported earlier, the upcoming Dulquer Salmaan film 'Salute' is skipping its theatrical release and will be available for streaming on March 18.
